5 REITs worth taking a look
1. On top of the heap is Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (SGX: A17U). The REIT, which invests mostly in industrial properties, has a market cap of $7.5 billion and a yield of 6.1%. Over the last three years, the REIT has recorded a total return of 32.6%.
2. Retail mall owner CapitaLand Mall Trust (SGX: C38U) is in second place with a market cap of $6.95 billion. It has a distribution yield of 5.7% and has recorded a total return of 14.7% over the past three years.
3. Another CapitaLand entity, CapitaLand Commercial Trust (SGX: C61U), weighs in at third place with a market cap of $4.8 billion. The commercial properties owner has recorded a three-year total return of 19.6% over the same period and has a distribution yield of 5.6%.
4. Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust (SGX: T82U) slips in at fourth place with a market cap of $4.47 billion. The REIT owns a big stake in Suntec City which has a mixture retail tenants and office tenants. Suntec REIT offers a yield of 5.7% and has a three-year total return of 19.0%.
5. Mapletree Commercial Trust (SGX: N2IU) rounds up the list with a market cap of $4.45 billion. The owner of the iconic VivoCity and a few other commercial properties has a distribution yield of 5.4% and has registered a total gain of 40% over the last three years.
